STAGE I
Dear Young Colleagues,
Excellence in Orthopaedics extends beyond surgical skill. It is reflected in sound clinical
judgment, compassionate patient care, scientific curiosity, ethical practice, and an unwavering
commitment to lifelong learning.
The Bombay Orthopaedic Society has always believed in nurturing future leaders of our
profession. The Student of the Year Contest has become one of our most prestigious academic
initiatives, recognising residents who demonstrate not only exceptional knowledge but
also the qualities that define an outstanding orthopaedic surgeon.
This year marks an important milestone. For the first time, we are delighted to welcome both
MS and DNB Orthopaedic residents to compete on a common platform. We firmly believe that
excellence transcends training pathways, and every deserving postgraduate should have an equal
opportunity to showcase talent.
I encourage every eligible resident to participate wholeheartedly. Regardless of the outcome,
the preparation itself will enrich your clinical skills, broaden your academic perspective, and
inspire professional growth.
I look forward to witnessing the next generation of orthopaedic leaders at WIROC 2026.
